Dr. Shawn is a native New Yorker who was born and raised in Queens, NY. He later moved to Long Island and spent the remainder of his childhood in Coram, NY. He graduated from Longwood High School with his sights set on becoming a dentist. He attended New York University where he graduated with honors with a B.A. in psychology. Not ready to leave the city, Dr. Shawn made his way to Columbia University where he obtained his dental degree. At his graduation he was recognized for outstanding promise in the field of pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Shawn continued on to receive his pediatric specialty training at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. There he expanded his skill set while treating children of all ages, including those with special health care needs. After residency he headed back to Long Island, where his family has resided for 20+ years. Dr. Shawn looks forward to helping you and your children maintain good oral health. He believes in working with families to create a positive dental experience and catering to each child’s individual needs. He is not only committed to helping children here in his own community, but Dr. Shawn has served on two mission trips to Guatemala where he helped treat thousands of children in need of dental care.
